Welcome to Duncanville High School Counseling Department!
The Duncanville High School Counseling Department is dedicated to providing a comprehensive, developmental school counseling program that promotes academic, career, and social/emotional development. Our goal is to work collaboratively with parents, teachers, administrators and other community stakeholders to provide the best educational experience for students, to help them reach their full potential and to become productive leaders in our society.
Counselors are available to assist and advise each student with personal/social concerns, academic concerns, career exploration and choices, course selections, college choices, scholarship applications, recommendation letters, test score interpretation, setting goals, examining post-secondary options, teacher/student relationships, and any special situations that may be important to a student.

Vision: The vision of the Duncanville ISD Counseling Department is to graduate all students with a clear post-secondary plan, and the social-emotional skills to succeed in a competitive environment.
How to See Your Counselor
Students: During the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Counseling Office is closed for "walk-in" appointments. However, if a student would like to make a virtual appointment to visit with a counselor via Zoom, they may schedule and appointment by completing the Counselor Appointment Request Form.
Parents: Counselors make students a priority during the school day. However, parents who would like to make an appointment to visit with a counselor virtually (via Zoom) may do so by completing the Counselor Appointment Request Form or simply contact the counseling secretary, Mrs. Dinia Henderson at (dihenderson@duncanvilleisd.org) or 972-708-3912.
Please note that the Counseling Department Office Hours are from 7:30 am - 2:30 pm, M-F.
